Job Description

As an inspector at the Environmental Administration, you work individually but closely with your colleagues. The assignment is varied in nature and difficulty and offers a mix of work out in the field and at the office or other locations. The inspector role involves maintaining good contact with the municipality's residents, business owners, and other authorities.

In your work, you prevent ill health through supervision based on the Environmental Code and the Radiation Protection Act. You will conduct inspections of health protection activities, such as schools, preschools, swimming pools, and sports facilities. Additionally, you may work with other inspection areas within the health protection department. Besides inspections, you will handle incoming cases, such as notification cases and complaints.

As an inspector, you will maintain close contact with the municipality's residents, business owners, and other authorities, which requires good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different groups. You will be an important link between the Environmental Administration and the community, and your efforts will contribute to creating a healthy and sustainable environment for all.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a scientific university education or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position. We expect you to have experience as an environmental and health protection inspector and good knowledge of the Environmental Code. The job requires that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You also need to have a B driver's license and basic IT skills.

We would prefer that you have training in environmental and health protection, environmental law, or other advanced training.

As a person, you are self-driven and structure your approach independently, driving your processes forward. You are clear and ensure that your messages are conveyed correctly. Furthermore, you are calm and composed in various situations and can focus on the right things. The job suits you if you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. Last but not least, you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve military placement.
